Im headed to Comanche, TX after class today to hunt some ducks before the season is over. Meeting my brother and dad. Pretty excited about it....just hope the birds are flying. ANybody have any info on the birds in that area?? Just wondering if there are good numbers and what not. Thanks.

When I drove back a couple of weeks ago every private tank I saw had birds....I'm driving back through there today to hunt the coast this weekend.

Its CENTEX, there are no birds....
Seriously I've had some awesome hunts in Comanche over the years. Find the right stock tank and you don't need decoys or a call, I've killed Pintails, Gadwalls, Wigeons, Teals, and Ringnecks consistantly.
All my water in CENTEX has been dry for 2+ years, but I'm sure they are still in full force. Good luck!

I have a place in Comanche/brown county area.
bird numbers have been good early morning 645am-730/745. I have hunted 4 times in the last 3 weeks down there. you might get 1-2 more groups between 8-10 am. so advice is make the most of the first 45 minutes.
teal, wigeon, a LOT of gadwall, lots of pintails, and some Black jacks.

we went Saturday and Sunday morning....only got 3 saturday and then 5 sunday....saw a whole lot of birds flying and trying to land saturday morning....think my decoy spread wasnt right or we werent hidden enough.....not really sure....that was the first time I have ever set up the spread and done the calling so im still pretty new to all of it but it was fun....saturday we killed every bird that came to that tank we were on...only 5 birds the second day....still had a hell of a time and a great learning experience.
