My wife and kids were out of town this weekend, so I ran up to try to get a few does to fill the freezer with my buddy. We took my wife's Ford Escape cause the mileage is better than in either of our trucks. Needless to say, we had a good hunt but she probably wouldn't like this pic of two does where the kid's car seats usually go. Hey, at least I took them out, right? The orange "death tarp" kept everything pretty clean though. Everyone needs a good death tarp.

Been there. My buddy had his wife's explorer one time and I shot a spike buck and my other buddy had to ride in the back with it. haha... I had to explain why there wouldn't be an Christmas to her kids, she said. Great post. Brought back memories.
Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.

why not just quarter them and put em both in an ice chest? seems like it would be less work than trying to keep the car clean.

Good idea, Brandon A. We were hunting one of our spots that's about 20 minutes away from the camp where we usually clean 'em, so this was just a quick fix to get em there. They were in the cooler shortly thereafter. She gets home tonight so we'll see if she notices. Taking it to the car wash on my lunch break.

My wife puts deer in her Yukon, so I'm pretty sure I could get away with it if I had to. Not sure why I wouldn't be in my truck, though.
