A starange thing happened this morning. We were sitting in the blind and saw 2 animals swimming, no big deal thought it was beavers cause we have seen some there before. Well it was slow and they played in the middle for about 10 min. Could tell they werent beavers by the way they were swimming and up and down out of the water. But the strange part is we shot duck that went down on the other side of the pond and whatever these were one grabbed it and kept going under with the duck and coming up in diffrent places. Probally covered a hundred yards. What do yall think it was. Dont know if otters are in east Texas?

For sure river otters! Those suckers are really curious. I had one swim around my boat for about half an hour wondering how to get in!

Had some eat catfish out of a pond when I was a kid. Every morning we would find lots of huge catfish carcases on the banks. i have seen them on just about every lake around the pineywoods area.

Nutria rats will chomp ducks quick too. My buddy had some get into his pond and kill all of their domestic ducks.

I had one of my vizslas find and retrive a nutria rat yesterday while we were picking up decoys. Lucky for her it was a young one and couldn't put up much of a fight.
Shopping with your husband is like hunting with the game warden. Experience is what you get, when you didn't get what you wanted.
