Have no info on Swift Siroccos so details would be appreciated.

Thanks

just depends on how your gun likes it if it shoots good in your gun it would be a good hunting round

The Sirocco is an exceptional hunting bullet, but as stated above accuracy in your rifle would determine if it should be used.

Like Dee said it is an exceptional hunting bullet if your rifle will shoot them well. I use them in 22, 243, 7mm and 308. Love the way they work on game.

Chital, are you thinking about using them for your 243 Tikka that you will soon get. If so let me know. Have a few I will give you to try.

That's what I use in my Savage .243, considering I've done no custom work to my Savage and it has a cheap scope I get MOA accuracy out of my 95 grain Superformance. Also of note, I perform half-arsed autopsies on my kills and they leave a massive and deep wound channel! After testing them on hogs I bought 20 boxes of them. That being said I've heard nothing but good about Sciroccos.

I had a chance to buy that from the same guy but after using the Superformance I couldn't justify the experiment on a soldier's pay.

GMX is a tough bullet for sure, good one if going after critters that should require a bigger gun.

Superformance, I have tried and the 3 rifles I tried it in did not like it at all. "groups" were more like patterns. Talked to Hornady about them and they said that is the way with them, if your rifle likes them it usually loves them if the rifle does not like them it hates them. Guy I talked with said his normally sub MOA rifle shot 4" plus groups with superformance. My 7mm-08 that is 1/2 to 5/8 gun with the lite Mag shoots 2.5 to 3 inch groups with superformance.

It amazes me how so many people go for "super bullets". 99% of all game animals shot are done so at 250 yards or less.....and plain-jane Core-lockts, Power Points, etc. will kill ANNYTHING in their class if the marksman does his / her job.

BTW, paying 2$ a bullet WILL NOT make you a more accurate shot. Only practice and familiarization will do that.

So, save your money on ammo, and go shoot more often at the range.

FBJ yes I like the "super bullets" as you call them. Have seen the bullets you named and others fail to enter the chest cavity on shoulder shot animals, only to be put down with followup shots or recovered after long tracking jobs when only part of the bullet made it into the chest.

The bullet is the cheapest part of my hunt and though I punch a lot of paper and varmints with cup and core bullets, I will be sighted in and hunting with a good quality bullet that will leave an exit hole from about any angle the animal is shot. Lots of my hunting, if waiting for a perfect broadside shot there would be no shot or animal taken.

No bullet will make up for poor marksmanship.

Fully agree that most animals are shot within 250 yards. In fact most are shot at much shorter range than that. The closer to game you are the more you stress the construction of your bullet. A bullet that will come apart on a 20 yard should shot very well might give full penetration through both shoulders at 250 yards where it has had a chance to slow down. But when asked I will provide the answer I see as the best and practice in my hunting.

Oh and by the way my reloads cost me less than 75 cents per round using Sirocco bullets.

Superformance SST, Custom SST, and Federal Fusion seem like good choices. And the 80gr Federal SPs.

The Superformance SST and the Custom SST have like a 200fps difference. Does it make a difference?

Regarding "plain-jane" bullets, if I'm shooting hogs or varmints I could really care less if my bullet was the best or not. I agree with FBJ that in short range shots with corelokts will do just fine. However, open a box and look at the tips where the exposed lead is and you can see differences and misshapen tips, too. If I can see with my unaided-eye that the bullets are shaped different I won't be taking those bullets to shoot deer in north Texas or the wide-open spaces of Wyoming (I've killed way more Wyoming antelope than Texas deer although I've always been a Texas resident) where long shoot accuracy counts and I'm depending on the terminal ballistics of my bullet to make a clean kill. I also rely on my lesser-powered .243 due to all my shoulder problems and I feel better knowing I will make a cleaner kill with my polymer-tipped bullet than a cheaper bullet. Again, I'm NOT knocking your opinion or your facts and I agree your facts are true. But considering I bought my Superformance in bulk from a fellow THFer for $20 a box I certainly don't feel the extra buck and a half per box over Rem corelokts was wasted money. Plus, I know that my weapon shoots them more accurately. Now, if the price difference was $20 a box I might just shoot whatever I had that was cheap.
