Ever notice how many sponsors are on each TV hunting show?? When you count the time spent for commercials and replay of the same scenes, there are probably no more than 5 minutes of actual hunting footage for each 30 minute segment. That, and the fact that the hunter/s continue to whisper after making the shot drives me nuts!

Most are crap.
About the only one I consistently watch anymore is "Gun It with Benny Spies". Yeah, dude's goofy but it's half-way realistic. He admits when he misses, sometimes they get skunked, and most of his animals are not $$$ trophies on a set-up hunt. That, and I dig the "Toaster".

There are some really horrible shows these days. Give someone a camera they want to make and star on a hunting show. Most of them are about 18 minutes of hunting/talking/BS/product promo and 12 minutes of commercials it seems.

One of my favorites lately has been The Syndicate. I have a hard time watching WT hunts now unless I see some pines in the background.

we were told that figuring in commercial time, it would allow us 22 and 1/2 minutes of air time. crazy, but true! if you don't have enough commercial spots sold, they fill in with their own.

I rarely watch them anymore. i do however watching brush country monsters and some of the TX boys shows. We have filmed a few shows at the ranch as well. I absolutely despise the sponsor promo stuff over and over. If they are going to cram products down our throats then at least make a different commercial for each segment or shut up and hunt.

Just curious what "makes" a show a good one for people. I mean I rarely watch them I like border wars or duck dynasty myself when i do turn on the tv and uncle sy is hilarious. I mean here is the thing lets be honest hunting in Texas can be thought of as boring by outta state standards. I've been told that by clients. They just don't get the same rush sitting in a blind over a feeder. I'm not hear to bash anyone! I'm affiliated with a show and the boss is a really great guy but not being a tv guy unless its duck dynasty or border wars (my place has been shown 6 times only reason I watch lol) I'm just curious what about these shows you don't care for.

i like major league bowhunter, they will show misses and they dont shoot monsters every episode either. i like how they show the aerial views of their setups and explain why they do what they do.
If I send my neighbors a text and ask them to give me feedback on my lawn and plant rye into a giant dong pattern, I'm probably going to get some less than positive feedback. Same goes here.

I don't go out of my way to watch any show. I do not watch to many shows unless they are hunting Mule Deer anywhere or hunting Whitetails in Texas when flipping thru channels. I do like Heartland Bowhunter though and if I happen to catch it on I will watch it. I can't stand anything with Stan Pitts or Potts or whatever his name is. Wildlife Innovations show about that family of misfits is almost as bad.
