Im sure someone has.

Has anyone on here bought guns off of gunbroker.com?

I am looking for a savage 340 in 3030, and you cant find them just anywhere, and it seems that all the ones I find people dont really have them listed for sale, its the well anything if for sale for the right price, and Im not gonna pay 400 bucks for a savage 340. There seem to be a good number on there and just wondering if people have good or bad things to say about the site.

I would not sell anything else on there ever. JMHO. I sold a few things. Three non paying bidders. Got sorry excuses from all of them. I got hit with the fees. Been almost twenty days and still have not got them back.

Interesting. I dont think I will worry about that as I have never bought a gun I think I will want to sell.

I love gunbroker. I buy stuff off of there at least once a month. Never had a bad transaction. Never tried to sell there, but buying there is like crack for me. Have bought several firearms, reloading supplies, parts,,, Great Site.

Thanks chuck, what all do I need to set up?

Will I need to provide my own FFL or do they have them already? What is the aplication process like, do you have to get a background check etc or is that all handled localy at an FFL?

thanks,

matt

Find you a good local FFL. Gunbroker even has a tool in the buyers section that will help you locate the one nearest to you that will do transfers. What happens is:

1. The FFL you chose send a copy of their FFL (generally by fax or email) to the seller or sellers FFL.
2. The seller sends the gun to your FFL (not you)
3. You go in and do the registration paperwork and pay their transfer fee (my FFL just went up from $10 to $20, but they are great guys)
4. They hand you your firearm.

All you need to do is register on gunbroker and start bidding.

What I really like about gunbroker is the layaway terms some sellers on there use. Being a father of two your girls I spend roughly 12 grand a year on day and afterschool care for them. That really cuts into the fun money. But there are guys on there that do 60 day to 1 year terms on layways as long as you pay something every month. Puts me into guns I normally could not afford right now.

I've gotten some great deals on Gunbroker, I think I've bought 8 or 9 guns off of there.

Yeah I like gb. I've never found local prices that can compete with what I can find there. Even with the shipping and ffl fee, I still come out ahead vs. local purchase plus sales tax.

I'm keeping an eye on gb b/c I'm looking for a glock 30 gen 4. Hopefully one will pop us soon.

Matt go by Dury's Gunshop on talk them about what you are looking for. They do online sales of used firearms for people all the time. Ask for Timothy if he is still working there he handles to used gun and online auction sales I would talk to him. They are all very good people who work there. You can not beat their lifetime warranty on all new or used firearms purchased.
