So, it appears that the state of New York passed another version of it's own gun control law today and it no longer allows for a firearm to have a capacity of more than 7 rounds...
And somehow it mentions clips "magazines" manufactured prior to 94. None of it makes sense to me. Has anybody been able to make heads or tails out of how it reads?
One more reason to stay out of NY I guess.....

Its my understanding that they didnt grandfather any existing mags. I think 10 round mags are legal but you cant load more than 7 in them legaly. Anything that holds over 10 rounds will now be illegal.
Thats in a nut shell what I am seeing on some of the national firearms forums that I am reading.

Not Grandfathering anything in... maybe that's the 1994 part I was missing. Interesting.
So it looks like manufacturers will have to tool up 7rd NY compliant magazines?

Can't wait to see Obummer with his sick mind parading poor kids around tomorrow. I think Sadam H did that in his day too.

The citizens of New York voted these individuals into office to speak for them. It appears to me that unless there is some sort of uprising or massive protest to overturn this new legislation (I find this unlikely since it is now a law there...if people really cared, it wouldn't have made it this far), then they want it this way.
I've now given up trying to figure out how or why this kind of thinking exists in the first place, let alone having it become this widespread. You can call it a "demographic shift", "massive sociological change" or anything else you want. It is short sightedness fueled by ignorance, intolerance and frankly, stupidity.
I hope the citizens of the state of New York enjoy their newly volunteered status as "subjects" They have singlehandedly given up their ability as Americans to defend themselves not only against the criminal element but against a government that now has one less obstacle to becoming a monarchy. The road to total disarmament in that state has now been charted and a precedent has been established.
Shameful, and truly sickening.
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large numbers

From what I saw, people with magazines that are over 7 rounds have one year to "sell the out of state". Also if your rifle has ANY military type feature like a pistol grip (Axium stock on my Howa 22.250) or flash suppressor (Savage 11/111 Long Range Hunter) it is illegal.
Hopefully the good people of New York will make a stand against this type of dictatorship.
