Anyone use a 22 Mag for Hog hunting I would only be doing head shots and less than 100 yds I think it would drop them where they stand What are your thoughts ?

Some times they end up looking like this. It didn't move at all for a second, then just fell over.

Used 22 mag to dispatch deer I don't see why it couldn't dispatch a hog. That said I made shots less than 50 yds. I probably wouldn't try a shot at 100 yds.

Sounds like a serious edit/delete might be in the near future, as you are advertising, well anyway, just edit it.

Thanks guys I am going to give it a try My little Savage is just a tack driver I have it sighted in at 100 yds and from 0' to 100 yds the trajectory doesnt vary more than 11/2 inch I have a 16 power scope on it and Im confident i can proprly dispatch whatever I shot at, especially from a stand

I don't hunt deer with a .22 mag; that is illeagal. I've killed a deer with a broke leg from a cattle guard with a .22 mag by shooting it in the head. Same thing happened to a horse at same spot and used a .22 mag to dispatch it.

Itll work with proper shot placement like anything else nearly. I want to try it but it seems the hogs have disappeared from our lease this year, but I'm not complaining.

The 22 mag does a great job if you hit them in the ear or just below or just to the right a little. If you hit them to far to the right (snout/mouth area), it just ticks them off.
