Can't speak for the .45, but I've shot it in .223 and .40. Functioned reliably from what I remember, but somewhat dirty. I'm personally not a big fan of steel cases, so I don't make a habit of shooting it through my guns. With that said, I don't think feeding some through your .45 will do any harm - just require more cleaning.

A friend bought 55 gr hp for his AR. Had some feeding issues. Sold to me. I used in a mini 14 with no problems.
bought some 30 carbine and had one fired case stick in chamber. Had to beat it out with cleaning rod. I have not fired anymore in the carbine have about a half a box left.
befor the world went off deep end I could by Tula chearper then I could reload.

Spike's Tactical will shoot steel cased ammo. At least mine has. It's what I broke it in on. Mostly Silver Bear and Tula, some Wolf w/o any burps or failures.

Recently bought one of those giant 'sardine' cans from Academy. It contained 450rounds . Shot a couple of boxes with my berreta px4 storm 45 and had no problems at all. No jams or misfires.

My opinion but to me if an AR or any gun for that matter wont shoot cheap steel ammo its worthless. Sounds a little harsh but I want a rifle that will shoot anything.
Spikes and Palmetto State Armory have never failed me with steel case ammo.

I shot many, many rounds of Tula 45 through a Colt 1911 in competition/practice before I started reloading, I had no problems, and I didn't clean the gun very often. CTD had it cheapest back then, check ammoengine.com. I *think* it shot pretty accuratley, but I don't remember if I ever benched it.
Tula (gray) seems to have a good moly lube. Wolf (green) has a laquer coating I think. It tends to gum things up if the gun is shot rapidly enough to get hot and sticky or isn't cleaned often enough.
I have reloaded quite a bit of the steel .45 Tula cases too. (I'm a cheapskate when I can get away with it). I emailed them and they said it's harder to load and harder on your press, but other than that, no reason not too. I didn't have trouble with it. I only loaded it once, used it when I couldn't pick up my brass. Case life would be less than brass I think, steel is less malleable.
I have shot a bunch of Tula .223 55gr FMJs though my Savage, no problems, shot about 1"@100y. I shot some Wolf match ammo, 75gr IIRC, and it shot 1"@200y.
Long story short, go for it!
Hope that helps.

1000 rounds of 9mm tula on my Walther P 99 not one failure...oh!but its a p99 so I would say 80% success rate on any other gun...
