Does anyone know how to properly lower the trigger weight on my new savage axis .308? It is an extremely heavy trigger surprises me and makes my groups suck

If it has an accutrigger...which would have a little shoe sticking out in front of the trigger itself..there should be an
adjustment on the bottom of the trigger mech. you can see thru the guard..If not I'd suggest you take it to a gunsmith that works on Savages..he may adjust that trigger or suggest a replacement..Don

What he said.

IMO, unless its an adjustment designed by the manufacturer for owner use, I would take any trigger work to a professional gunsmith.

Thanks guys I might try the spring shortening method I just don't want to screw with my warranty If I find a replacement spring and something on it breaks and I need to use my warranty I could just assemble the old spring back onto the gun and my warranty would still be valid Thank all of you for your comments Can't wait to take down some hogs and yotes this weekend !!! Good hunting
