Like most kids, my son likes to do the same thing I'm doing. This past Christmas we bought him a small diamond bow. Now I am trying to teach him how to shoot it and yet I'm not sure if I'm shooting correctly.

What I'm getting at, is I would like to find some one that does archery lessons for kids. Are there any summer style camps for this?

I'd see about getting him some lessons at a local shop, from a real pro, rather than a well meaning camp counselor who may or may not be a shooter.

It's a little bit of a drive, but based on your being located in Palestine, I'd give Jerry at Redneck Booda Outdoors up the road in Kerens, and see if he, or one of his staff shooters might be up for giving your son some lessons.

If you weren't so far off, I'd suggest getting him up to Cinnamon Creek for the Monday night kids league. It's a shooting league, where they shoot against their own personal best scores to win medals, and it is a development league; the folks who run it are always available to help your kid with form and shooting tips. My daughter loves going, it's the highlight of her week. You may do some checking around and see if there is a league like that nearer where you are.
