I apologize for this, and sure hate to say it, but man I'm glad I'm not the only one. lol. I have the same issue, but not quite so bad I suppose. As you can see here: Deer Pic Page most of these pics are at night as well. This morning before heading to work, there was an 8-pointer chasing some doe, so I know they come out during daylight, just not often. I guess we'll see come Saturday, but man I sure hope either a doe, or that big buck steps out. Best of luck to ya.

Deer showing up in the day time, don't mean at daylight. If your trail cam is showing deer moving around as late as 5 a.m., then you probably need to be sitting in that blind till at least 10:00 a.m., if not all afternoon. Just my opinion, and a whole bunch of articles that have been written over the years, most of the bigger bucks have been killed between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. I have consistently killed more deer between 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., than I have at first light. I know of way too many folks that will bail out of the stand and head for camp by 9, and the deer know it also.

I saw a commercial on the Outdoor channel this week for a feeder that was a trough type set-up. However it was on a timer that closed the feeder at dusk and opened it up at dawn forcing the deer to eat from your feeder only during daylight hours. I believe that this is a brand new product but it seems pretty interesting, and I think it was called Nocturnal Nightmare. I have no idea if it would works or not, probably depends on time of year and the availiability of natural forage.

It would also depend on how Hog Proof it is. Them porkers smell corn, and there isn't a lot that stops them if they are serious. JMO

Like CHC says, go prepared to sit in that blind till early afternoon. You'll see those deer from the pictures then. Buddy of mine doesnt even hunt mornings. They go to their blinds about 10 am and spend the middle of the day there. He's got some nice looking trophies on the wall from that practice so who am I to argue?

I thought about that too, there is no way it would work in a high traffic hog area. At my lease in Cisco we have yet to see a hog in 8 years, so it would probably work there. I guess there are still a few places in Texas w/o hogs but not many it seems.

I don't know, I am probably wrong about this, but I think a lot of us wish that hogs could be managed, they sure make that afternoon set in the blind a lot more interesting. JMO

Yep. Had the EXACT same thing going here too. All my trail cam pics were between 20:00 and 05:00, so I moved the cam to a funnel area that leads to field where the feeder is. Sure 'nuff, started getting pics of deer between 08:00 and noonish.

I sat in the stand this morning and saw 2 doe at daybreak crossing the right-of-way leading up to my house. About 30 minutes later, the some hunters were popping off about 10 rounds and spooked them. At 9:00 I saw the big buck and 4 pointer streak across another right-of-way with no time to shoot, then saw 2 doe follow them right at 9:45. I left the stand at 10:30 to do some errands for family. My wife said she saw the big buck from the back door. I have a right-of-way cleared from the back door and we look at the feeder through a spotting scope. She said she saw it, but it was in an area I couldn't see, and towards the house so I wouldn't take the shot anyway. It was a good day to be out, regardless if I got to pull the trigger. Went back out this evening and saw 4 does crossing the same right-of-way towards where the bucks went. When I was getting out of the stand, I heard'em snort at me, although it was pitch-black dark. I poured a trail of corn down that right-of-way so I guess they were eating towards me and realized I was there when I closed the stand door. lol Hope everyone had a safe Opening Day. When I didn't see'em eat during the day, I didn't mean to imply I didn't see deer.
