Tons of birds in the panhandle this year. I was down further south in Hale Center this past weekend and the cocks were lining the county roads. Should be awesome!! Good folks up there in Pampa.

Agreed, we talked to the biologist (Jeff Bonner) in Pampa last night as he was scoring my partners whitetail that scored 184 7/8 with nine inchs of tine broke off. We have game cam pictures of him last year and this year. He would have been a 192 B&C. Anyway, Jeff Bonner says the pheasants numbers are the highest since 1983.

I will be going to the Panhandle in a couple of weeks for a Pheasant hunt. My parents were up there this weekend and said they saw lots of birds. I'm looking forward to a good year. How did everybody do up there last year?

I used to hunt southwest of Pampa every year up until my inlaws moved to Texarkana about eight years ago. We hunted south of the Celanese plant on the Groom highway. This ought to be a terrific year. The reports I have received from down around Plainview have all been great!

We hunted west of Perryton in the cold last Saturday. Gobs and gobs of birds, but really wild that day. We must have seen between 200 and 300 birds in one field, with most flushing a couple hundred yards out. But 2 apiece sat tight long enough to be in range of switch to full choke.
