I use Jim Burke (RIP) leather outside the waistband holsters. I discovered these right after I got my CHL and swear by them. I recently found another company that makes a similar style holster. These definitely require an over-shirt/vest, but they are what I prefer. I did have to adjust to having my wallet in my left pocket.
Definitely getcha that CHL!

Havent recieved my license yet, its been around 40 days or so, but I keep hearing and reading that they are having high volume of applications, so I would get it going pretty quick. Also, from what I have been reading on another forum site for CHL, its best to do the online application and then take that pack to the class. If you do it online some are saying that they get their CHL faster, not sure. But if you do it online you can track it easier and you dont have to wait for a PIN. At this time I think they are averaging 75 days for application to license in hand. I am still trying to find a holster, so good luck. Not sure where you are at, but if you want to PM me and let me know I know where they do the class and the instructor is really good. Good luck and you better get it done before November.
I can give you the site, but not sure of the rules of promoting another site, even though its not for hunting, only for CHL. If you want it then let me know via PM.

Grab you a Fobus holster for under $20. Very good quality

I've had my CHL now for several years and have found out one thing carrying, and that is if you aren't comforable you won't carry.
I've tried a lot, and I mean a lot of holsters and have settled on actually a very inexpensive model made by Bianche.
It holds the pistol secure, and is super thin but very well made, and it has a strong steel clip, instead of those bulky straps and snaps or belt loops.
It is easy to put on and take off even while sitting in your car, which makes it ideal when going into businesses or areas where carry is not allowed, and also at the beginning or end of the day, or even bathroom breaks, where you just unclip it and it never has to be taken out of the holster.
It doesn't need to have the reinforced non calapsable lip because for concealed carry you really don't need to have to draw and then reholster like a LEO may need to do when arresting someone.
If you have to draw it you use it, and putting it back is just as simple as removing the holster from the belt by uncliping it, and then place the gun back into it.
You have to make up your own mind, but believe me when I say comfort and practicality is the key!

As a long time CHL person myself, I agree with Jimbo. You must be comfortable or you simply will find reasons to not carry. If you aren't carrying your CHL is useless.
For this reason I use a 5 shot revolver, not a semi-auto. It would be nice to have more shots available, but not at the price of not having the gun if I need it. More shots in a gun that's not on my person is useless. Even the small revolver is cumbersome if I don't use the right holster. I use a soft holster made by Uncle Mike's. It's cheap, easy to remove and basically just protects my back from the metal and the gun from my sweat.

Most of the time I don't carry, but when I do, it's in my front pocket. All i carry is a modified 32 Tom Cat.
Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

I have had my CCL for a couple of months now and find the Kel-Tec 380 in a pocket holster is easy to conceal during these hot Texas summer months. During the winter I will carry the XD-45c in a IWB Crossbreed Deluxe holster.

For those that are currently waiting for their CHL to arrive in the mail, or those about to take the exam-there is a 4-5 month wait on actually getting your license! Someone above mentioned 75 days. That is NOT the case! I took the course in APRIL of this year, and still to date do not have my license!
I was told that there was a new law that went into effect that required real estate agents to be licensed and/or background checked. This has put a tremendous load on the people that process the paperwork for CHL's and is why they are so far behind. Imagine every realtor suddenly needing to be licensed at the same time.
I am carrying legally in my car while I wait for the license. Once the license comes, I will carry on my person. Just counting the days...... Will have to get one of the holsters mentioned above.
