I decided to take the kiddo out for a couple of hunts last night and this morning. Got to the stand last night around 3:30 and only saw a few turkey. Those were over 230 yards so we didn't even try it. Got back in the stand this morning at 5:30. He curled up on the floor and went to sleep while I stood watch. After first light I glanced up from THF every few minutes. Right at 7:30 I saw two deer under the feeder. After kicking him a few times to wake up we watched them for a few minutes. Picked this one over the (not legal) 4 point yearling. Kiddo took on shot at 105 yards right to the front shoulder and he only ran about 20 yards. This was his second deer with his first being a spike last year. To say he was excited is an understatement. I think I was more excited than he was. He is still ticked I won't take him and the head to Momma's office to show her.
