I was able to get 2 casualties on my first duck hunt, but unfortunately they were 2 of my deeks. I guess I didn't let out enough string or the string wasn't long enough and they floated off.

I had 1 coot come close enough to shoot at but I think it was still before shooting time, but not positive. Other than that I didn't see much. I went to a place I found on Saturday, and was the first one out in this area. Then someone set up right up the cove from me, and I met 2 other hunters that joined me for a bit, then they decided to move to another spot so I packed up and went with them but still didn't see much. I'm going to try and get back out there in a few days and try to take my FIL with me this time. I found out he used to do the duck call competitions so I am hoping I can get a lot of pointers from him. Maybe I will have a better day next time, but I am glad I was out in nature finally.
