The first time I hunted out of a layout was with Jeff a couple years ago. He had to break up ice in the tank we hunted to get the decoys to float, I was surprised how warm I was. I'm sold!!
There is time, and you must take it, to lay your hand on your dog's head as you walk past him lying on the floor or on his settle, time to talk with him, to remember with him, time to please him, time you can't buy back once he's gone" GBE

Avery power hunter in shadow grass. 15 second setup, light, inexpensive.
About 100 bucks. Gave a 300 dollar blind away a few years ago to guide we use in Bonham.
Too heavy.
Take a kid Huntin

Avery Finisher. Light, low profile, and durable. On my 5 season with it...hunting it hard.

Avery Finisher. Light, low profile, and durable. On my 5 season with it...hunting it hard. Finisher is a out as low a profile as an 870 is a semi automatic. The aluminum they weld the frame from is week and will break. The flaps lay on your face, they are made for people with narrow shoulders, and they don't break down for travel worth a flip, but if that's what your looking for in a layout then by all means buy one. I know all this because I still have one left that I use for a spare spare blind when I have more than 6 in a group

It mostly depends on whether you will be walking very far to your spots (buy the light one that folds up to put on your back) or if you drive to your spot. If you don't have to carry it far, the bigger ones are nicer.

Yeah my buddy has a finisher and its complete crap. Whole inside broke down and its just the skin now. Puts his blind bag underneath it as a head rest, I'd have to say it is low profile lol, but I'd stay away. Take it from someone who gets out in the woods more than once a weekend.
Thanks for all the positive THF support. Y'all are awesome.

I have the cabelas ultimate northern layout blind. It carries kinda like a turtle shell but it's comfortable, warm, and will sit in water with no leaks. I usually throw my gun and bag in it with me and there is plenty of space.

I've been using Cabelas Mobile 1 layouts. They are super light, and fold down for easy transport.
Ultra low profile is awesome, but your giving up some comfort with these, and the big guys don't like em so much.

Have a few buddies with the Redhead Deluxe and they are nice. The pin system I can see being a problem down the road but so far they have held up the first year.
I have the Cabelas Northern Flight Lightning and really like it as well. Super easy to break down.

A got a Man Cave by Hard Core Decoys because at 6'4" 265# I need the extra size. I like that is has no pins to setup. It works by sliding tubes back and forth over the frame to hold it in place. Great idea until you get it muddy and the tubes don't want to slide. So breaking it down and setting up is a pain unless you hunt where there is no mud or want to clean it every time you use it. No biggie for me though I never break it down. It goes either on the front deck of the boat or back of the truck loaded with decoys to weigh it down. It is NOT one to load on your back for a death march. I have a Power Hunter for that but have yet to walk in with it. Usually my son uses it. This his kinda funny... I looked up the XLand'r to find out more about it and found this review from a guy in CA: This layout blind shines terribly on sunny days so you better not forget to mud up your blind before the hunt. I used this all season and on the first sunny day I noticed all the ducks where flaring so I walked around and reset all of my decoys, while walking back to the layout I saw the problem! Under all of the natural vegetation I had added to help it blend in was a nasty shine. I had to remove all of the camo and I made up some mud and smeared it all over the outside, reinstalled the branches and grass. After that.... I limited out in 30 minutes with ducks nearly landing in the decoys. I guess they've never heard of mudding a layout on the Left Coast LOL...

FA eliminator express for low profile and ease to pack in.
Rogers goosebuster if I can drive right to the spot. Sometime you've got to dig a hole to get the big bastard hidden, but it is the most comfortable blind.
