I finally put a little green on the strap for the first time this year. This hunt was Saturday morning at a friend's family land around Carthage. My friend and I set up on a couple acre beaver pond that is above a 15 acre slough. His grandfather and dad set up on the back end of the slough and between the two groups were roosting birds. Each group only threw out 6 decoys and the birds worked very well. We ended the day with 18 birds (8 mallards, 8 gadwalls, and 2 woodies). A lot of new birds have arrived over the last week and hopefully more are on their way. Happy hunting to everyone in 2013.
