EVERY gun owner needs to watch this video.....and watch it now. The "Assault Weapon" ban being proposed by Dianne Feinstein is much, much worse than you probably think it is. It is our duty as gun owners to spread the word, and spread it fast!! Please watch, and share with every gun owner you know....

She tries to pass this same crap every session. There might be some political push right now, but there's nowhere near enough drive to pass these kind of overreaching laws. It'd be political suicide for every republican in the House to let this go through. They'll do some kind of feel-good legislation, but it'll be SEVERELY neutered. I wouldn't worry about Feinstein's bill going through as written, not at all.

That may very well be so.....but it's no reason for us to sit back and not worry. We need to fight everything we can TOOTH AND NAIL, while we have the upper hand still. If we wait to fight this type of stuff....it will be too late.

Greetings,

Due to the recent events at Sandy Hook elementary school we now face renewed threats to our Constitutional rights. While I understand how painful the loss must be for those touched by this tragedy, blaming firearms or their owners and punishing them is not the answer to the challenges we face as a nation.

We already have laws that were violated by a man who was likely psychotic and heavily medicated. This man was stopped by the mandatory background check from purchasing firearms. He then decided to murder his mother and take her legally owned firearms to commit this tragedy.

If your true goal is to protect our children, then enact legislation that will do that. Banning firearms that are rarely used in crime (less than 1% of the time) is not going to stop such tragedies, that was proven in 1999 when the Columbine shooting took place under the 1994 ban. Do something meaningful, please. Make committing the insane easier. Put armed security guards in our schools. But do not strip us of our rights and property by passing additional anti-gun laws that have historically had no positive effect on crime in our nation or others.

Thank you.

I'm an NRA member, and I have written my elected officials. I'm not suggesting we should be complacent, I just think we should be measured in our responses to inflammatory and unrealistic things like this proposed ban which will never go through in this form. By shouting that the sky is falling we're helping to perpetuate the very panic and run on guns/ammo that so many are bothered by right now.

I agree that those on the left like Feinstein will take as much as they can. I just don't think for a second it'll be anything near what's named in her worst-case-scenario bill. The republican house will be the deciding factor in what actually gets passed. Compromises will certainly be made, but they're not going to let the left run roughshod over them. They like being politicians and want to remain in those positions after 2014.

In a nutshell, I agree it's the time for action.

It's not the time for panic.

Excellent response, and very well written. I hope that gets seen by many eyes...

It is this VERY attitude that has gotten us here today. Back in 94', guys were saying the same thing, and look where that got us.

We need to wake the hell up and act like we are truly the sons and daughters of the Patriots who came before us, we need to put out the effort to keep our rights!!

DO NOT BE LULLED INTO INACTION.....that is how the left has taken over.....they move while we sleep, content, in warm beds, stealing our liberties bit by bit.

Some will say...DONT over-react, chill out, relax.......I say, WAKE UP!! Put on your warface, and let us destroy this silent thief that moves in the night, this usurper of power.

The laziness of so many will lead to the loss of freedom for all. Anyone who says this cant happen, is a FOOL! They said Obama couldnt be re-elected with 16 trillion in debts, no prospect of freedom, and the yoke of tyranny on us all.....yet he sits in the Oval Office right now!

Im sick of people who say...relax...chil out....dont over-react..... These people are costing us our Nation....they sit and do nothing until its too late, then their answer is ...Oh Well.

GET OFF YOUR BUTTS....Act like you care about your freedom and your liberty.....before its just a memory!

You sir have just stated that you believe that the ban will effect less than what is currently proposed......I SAY....even 1 is too many!

You have the attitude I take such an offense with...yours is to not react, to not get into the fight, to allow the enemy to have its victories....

Let me tell you Sir of the response I was taught in Ranger school....
WHEN ambushed, your only response is to return fire, gain fire superiority , advance upon the enemies positions, and destroy them. Do that, or die.

I choose to Fight!

And that is the problem. It is time to let the officials know that you do not support "compromises" when it comes to your rights!

Dear Friend:
Thank you for contacting me regarding the terrible tragedy in Connecticut. Like all Americans, my thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families.

As our whole nation grieves, we wait for more information about the killer's motives and means. We all want to do something to halt such senseless killings, but the question is always what law could have stopped an individual apparently so determined to commit such violent and destructive acts.

I join you in the hope that we never again encounter such a tragedy and will certainly keep your thoughts in mind.

Sincerely,
Kay Bailey Hutchison
