i am now a soph. at Angelo State, theres not to many people that would guess San Angelo to be good duck hunting, but once i found the 10,000 acre public hunting land i was in heaven the setup is perfect two lakes a canal that connects them and the river running in between offered some of the best duck huting of my life, i usually hunt east texas lakes, flooded timber and rivers but.... this was awesome, teal, pintails, canadian geese, mallards, gadwall, widgeon and wood ducks every where and many more different species that i never have killed in east texas.. thank goodness for college, other than the low gpa due to me spending more days in the canal than in class i love it...if anyone is out that way and has time to stop i would be glad to take you along i have blinds built all along the canals and river, decoys, boat, two dogs and countless memories

First, welcome to the forum.
I like San Angelo. Back when I used to ride bulls, I found it one of my favorite rodeo towns. Always friendly to us. Used to do the draw for the Angelo State University Deer Hunt too, and did get on one of the doe hunts but it got too expensive for me. Good luck out there, your way outside my range and probably most anyone else outside SAngelo. From DFW it would probably cost me $200 in Diesel round trip nowdays and way too much good duck hunting closer.

ENGB-

I feel ya'...but with the price of gas...

Dont' think everyone is going to jump up and run to your neck of the woods!

Dixie03, I am suppose to head to the Midland area to hunt this fall...might give ya' a shout and stop by on the way to or from!

I too know about a low GPA due to duck hunting!

Awww, my neck of the woods, I dont care what the price of fuel is, I will be heading there this winter for some great action.

Used to hunt there on corp land years ago when it wasnt a draw but a raffle, we would stand in line all day and night for a chance at a doe.

if i didnt tell anyone there is so much flooded mesquites, and places to hunt i dont think there will be a problem and i was just trying to find some more guys to take hunting, i love duck hunting its my passion and if you know what you are doing, you will shoot a limit of ducks no matter how many people are out there hunting anyways most cant even get to the good spots without a four wheeler or boat...

I have always had a problem...getting to the Good spots...Guess, it is because I ain't got the right four wheeler or boat!

You're not trying unless you flunk out of college with a one point GPA.
