Know how the hunting is off of 283 going through Albany. I just got access to a 160acres to hunt. Have off it is in Throckmorton and half is in Shackelford county. I turned west and the Stasney Cook ranch is pretty close. Just wondering if anyone knew how the hunting is threw there. The Brazos goes right through the middle of the place.

A lot of big-time money is spent for leases out "Albany-wayt" from what I understand. I'd jump on it....especially if the bRazos runs through it.

I grew up over at Newcastle, and that area over on the Clear Fork close to Fort griffin has been a pretty good piece of country even back in the 60's. If you have a chnce to hunt it go for it, also there is some great catfishing in the Clear Fork. I think you have got yourself into a Honey of a deal.

I have hunted 5 miles north of Albany for 14 years. Lots of good animals and great memories! Never a dull moment out there.

My Grandpa has oil leases on the Nail Ranch in Albany and some of the biggest deer I have ever seen are out there.

I've hunted the Nail several times. That was when Johnny Hudman was running it. Now he's running the Stasney Cook. that whole area is great.
Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.
