I'm asking the experts. The one on the left is a widgeon. The one on the right is a hen canvasback. What's the one in the middle? I have an idea, but I won't say so as not to influence your thoughts in any way.

I don't think it's a pintail. I don't remember noticing even a hint of a pintail.

I would've guessed pintail hen as well based on coloration with the angle of the picture. But if it isn't that, then based on the slope of the bill/head, size of the bird, and basic coloration, then my next guess would be hen redhead.

Happen to have any other pictures of the bird?

Hen Redhead was my guess too. Unfortunately, that's the only picture I took that day that has survived going through multiple phones. Sorry, I can't provide another angle. This was from a few seasons ago. I had been hunting in Michigan for years and all we ever saw were mallards and wood ducks. It was nice to find a nice mixture of ducks down here in Texas. I like to get mixed bags, as opposed to a mess of mallards. I still like the greenheads, but I really enjoy seeing different ducks. Thanks for the ID.

I believe the mystery bird is a red head. And just so I don't sound like everyone else, I think it's an early season drake.
