i just saw m&p 15-22 magazines going for 160.00 on ebay, a 16.00 plastic magazine.

I have absolutely no evidence of this but i think this will end quicker than you would think. I rationalize it by how fast thse prices shot up. If it were more of a steady rise over months, then yes I would believe we're in for a long ride. However, all this literally happened within a week. Never forget the tulip crazy. These AR price inflators are as silly as the Dutch.

i sold a mini 30 a little before for obama got in the 1st time for $450 which was a decent price at the time. i still hate myself for doing it because just a few months later i could have got about bouble that and now i could get about 3 times that. o well. i dont agree with todays pricing right now but i guess a fair market price is whatever someone is willing to pay and there are stupid people paying these crazy prices. just hope the prices come back down soon.

Thats what is getting to me i looked at a couple of other sites and people are literally goin nuts trying to get a mini, or an AR and are paying whatever it takes to get it. I cant wait for prices to drop back down and they will be stuck with a rifle that they paid double or even triple its actual value.

But then again i guess it could go both ways, the same people buying these guns will want their money back out of them when its time sale and not wanting to take a huge loss so that may just keep prices where they are now. Kinda like gas prices when it jumper over 2 bucks everyone freaked out and it held at that price so long and everyone got used to paying it, and look at it now

I don't see it as stupidity until someone lays down hard earned dollars for those type of prices. Last time this happened prices dropped to 0.30cents on the dollar in 5 months.

That's what I'm waiting for. All year long I was planning on buying and AR-10 in Jan-feb 2013 time frame. Prices have more than doubled so now I have to wait.

What was really stupid....was beany babies. You had old ladys buying certain ones for hundreds of dollars. Standing in line for hours. For a toy stuffed with plastic pellets.

Give a person a reason to spend money. And no matter how crazy it may be.....people will do it.

Me too. My original plan was to get a DDM4 V5 around Feb-March. So much for that.

That's what people thought would happen after Y2K- the market would be flooded with all the "Doomsdayers" guns- didn't happen.

I think it will take a few months, as the supply has dried up and it will take that long for the products to "flow" through the supply chain. By then most folks should have calmed down (unless a really bad law or executive order happens).

I too think it will take months. Most of the manufacterers probably had several months production setting in inventory for a cushion, but a market clearing has wiped that out. Overall, I bet more orders are coming in per day to manufacterers for quantities greater than those manufacterers can produce in a day. This on top of the weeks to months worth of backorders production has yet to catch up with.

The recent announcements of bills to be introduced and what is in them will probably cause a second wave of panic buying. But I am sure manufacters are increasing hours and production as well to get the profits while the getting is good. The high retail prices nd re-sell values the supply and demand issue has created will cause prices to trickle all the way back to materials needed for the production of effected rifles and parts. Those companies and importers will want a share of the retail pofits they are seeing. They will increase prices until it balances with the demand.

If the ban never happens, there will be a lot of people with buyers remorse for getting caught up in it all. If executive orders ban the import of needed parts and materials followed by passage of a federal ban of some sort before those backorders are filled, it will only get worse.

I have been watching GB pretty close the last week or so. Prices are definitely on the way down already. Last week Pmags were going near $100, this week they are closer to $30. The "gotta get a black gun" craze has been quenched by many and a flood or guns and mags is causing the price to go down. Economics 101.

What about AMMO ? Im in Houston.....and you cant find a brick of .22 ANYWHERE in this town; and forget about a Ruger 10/22 !! I saw a guy buy the last 10/22 in a ACADEMY......and had offers leaving the store??!!

If you need 30-30.....the shelf is full! But 556 / 308 / 762 x 39 / and .22 ....gone like a fart in a windstorm.

I have been seeing a lot of 5.56 tracer ammo on shelves and plenty of .22lr. I give it 2 weeks until it calms down and prices adjust, still high until the Feds make a final decision though.

There's only so much cash out there to be used for buying at panic prices. When the Christmas credit card bills start arriving some may be selling to raise cash.
