Anyone out there seeing many covey's? I had a covey of 23 birds walk up my hill right by my blind yesterday. I heard them calling out to the other side. Seen probably 4 different covey's just driving the property. Sure wish I had a good bird dog. Anyone else seeing good numbers?

Quail hunting is like walking into, and out of a beautiful painting all day long. Gene Hill

I think those are some of our released birds Issac. We turned a bunch loose just north of yall. This has been the best year for quail we have had in probably 8 years. We had a good carry over and reproduction from our stocking last year. After season we will start in on the varmints again. Its awesome to hear the little rascals calling from every direction at sunup again sure missed that sound the last few years.

very true bayourat. I have seen them the last 3 years but have been spotty. I have not even thought about pulling out the shotgun because I want to see the population grow. I have seen so many this year I think we will be safe to take a wack at it.

yeah we are gonna hunt a few places too, probably just once. When and if you kill some holler at me or send me some pics so I can look and tell if they are stocked or natives birds, if you don't mind

went out this weekend. I did not hear or see one single quail. On another note, there were ducks EVERYWHERE...

In our area of Runnels county we are seeing more quail this year than in the last 4 years combined.
