Ive hunted central to east tx my whole life n never been able to call or rattle a buck in. With the exception of occasional playin around with a spike or young buck. I've nevet been able to make anything happen. Ive seen bucks bout hundred yrds out n try to call them in with a grunt or ratlle if it around rut time but its like they look up then they just ignore it. Do calls n horns have no effect on deer round this part of tx. ( new baden, franklin, jewett, buffalo) area. Any help or ideas wud be great. Ive called in lots of bucks in west n south tx. But my home range is pretty tough.

Anyone who says bowhunting isnt fair chase shuda been sittin in my stand last few days!

They either ignore it or act like it spooks them n run away from it

Sometimes calling works, sometimes it doesn't. Have called in bucks in Lampassas, Hamilton, Shackelford, and Eastland counties in Texas. Sure I have spooked some but that is part of the risk/reward of calling. Usually it has been the smaller bucks that have spooked.
