There is way more to it besides a squeeling rabbit blaring at max volume. Calling works more than you realize. The biggest thing is know where they are before they start calling. If they ain't there they can't come. Be still and do t be whispering to your buddy. They can hear a mouse squeek at 300 yards so a whispering conversation would sound like a rangers game to them. When you get done calling set there 10 min. You be amazed what just stumbles in.

try the Tally-Ho for a great mouth call. One of the best I've ever had/used. They are easy to use and with a little practise they will do a bunch. I think a guy in South Dakota makes them. Just google them. There's another called Tweety something that I really like too. think that one is maqde in Kansas.

I may get poo-pooed here, but during deer season I always carry one of those little plastic squeekers used in stuffed animals. I put it down by my feet and step on it a few times every hour or so. I've had quite a few coyotes and even a few bobcats break the tree-line and bee-line for me. A whole bag of 10 of 'em (one lasts about a season before the seam splits) is like $5.00 at Hobby Lobby. I don't go crazy with it. Just three or four random light squeeks and wait. If I'm in the mood I shoot, if not I play the "where would I shoot you" game. Great scope and target aquisition practice, btw. Certainly not the best of calls, but for something that costs next to nothing, takes no batteries or practice, will fit in your coat pocket, no set-up (involves pulling it out of your pocket dropping it), and that you don't even need to move to use, not bad.

If you're wanting an e-call and don't want to spend the money for a foxpro, check out the Johnny Stewart call. It comes with probably 12 or 16 different calls from cottontail, coyote fight, coyote pup, chickens, and more.
