Can you shoot both fixed and mechanical broadheads or do you have to tune for one or the other?

I shoot both but I don't shoot both at the same time. I will shoot only fixed for a while then if I want to switch I will check my sights make any adjustments needed and shoot only mechanical for a while.

Like everyone has previousley stated shoot both to see how your bow shoots the two types of heads. A properly tuned bow should shoot either pretty close to the same as long as both heads are the same grain. Your form also plays into it to. Bows with shorter brace hieghts, say 6" are alot more unforgiveing with bad form. Thus making the two differant types of heads shoot way differant out of the same bow. I could go on and on about differant scenarios but anyways it's just best to try them both to see how your bow reacts, and good luck.

I am sure I could if they made mechanicals in the gr weight that i shoot. I still dont think i would use them but i am positive they would fly the same.

I use G5 montecs for hogs and rage two-blade for deer and carry both in my quiver. I have connected on four deer and three hogs this season with no issues. Just make sure it works for you and your bow.

just got tuned up and mine is shooting good groups with both, check your alignment of your broadheads if bow is well tuned and not grouping fixed blades. Fix blades exagerate issues that field tips, and mechanicals will tolerate better. In theory if you are shooting good broadhead groups you should be beating up arrows with a mechanical.BgBKhunter is right on about brace and form. I also think arrow flex plays a part but having flunked physics could not prove it.
