Does anybody have any suggestions for good restaurants that are pretty close to I-10, from San Antonio out as far as Kerrville?

One of my favorite restaurants along that stretch is Po Po's just north of IH10 at the Comfort exit. It is a family style restaurant with the walls covered with commerative plates from the 50s and 60s. Give it a try you will like it.

25 miles south in Bandera Texas is a restaurant opened 98 years ago. Called Old Spanish Trail and I recommend this to anyone to go there. The food is good enough, but the exterior of the building is 110 years old, and is set up like the old times. My daughter and I sat in saddles at the bar and had breakfast.

Po Po's is at the 533 waring-welfare exit, before comfort. Alamo springs is a few miles off ih 10 at the comfort exit. Great burgers, #3 on Texas monthly 50 best in texas http://www.texasmonthly.com/blogs/eatmywords/?p=500Flagstop cafe is a good old style truckstop cafe...no truckers there anymore...its at the 546 exit between san antonio and boerne.. Panchos BBQ at the 523 exit in comfort is awesome. they close at 7pm. one of my favs. Welfare Cafe...nicer place (and you pay for it) but very good. Comfort is home for me.

I would second Po Po's in Welfare. About 10 miles south of comfort on I-10, and if you are looking for Burgers, Alice Springs just south of Fredericksberg headed toward Sisterdale.

Fritzes bbq on the far side of boerne and riverside meat market in boerne are both worth repeat business. Fritzes has better sides and I prefer their BBQ, not to knock riverside. Both are on business 87
If they love our milk and honey but vote for some other way of livin, then it's time to sour the milk and honey.

There was a motel/restaraunt in Boerne at the Boerne Stage Road exit. They had (and advertised) the best chicken fried steak in town. It was as advertised and their Tex-Mex was very good also. Looks like it has been torn down. Anybody know if they rebuilt anywhere in the area??

Mague's in Boerne is great and cheap! I wonder how many times we've sat next to each other while eating there? That's a weekly visit for me!
