Close on the sale of my property near Lexington tomorrow. Wasted exactly zero time in buying a new tract a little closer to Houston. This place isn't as scenically beautiful as my last property, but I think it's set up nicely for game. Property is mainly a big hayfield bordered by woods:  Middle of property looking back towards creek bottoms:  Opposite woodsline:  Back in the woods:   Creek frontage:   What kind of scat is this? Looks like coyote/dog and coon? Kinda funny that so many animals are walking out onto this downed tree to take dumps.  Anyhow, very excited about the new place. Close in the next couple of weeks.

Coon poop. Get you a backhoe and build you a tank for some good ol' fashioned duck hunting! Those big, human sized logs are coon poop? I know the stuff with seeds in it is. I need to consult someone on how to build a duck tank. Wondering if the low water table out here (entirely flood plain) would mean I would only need to sort of rake a tank out.
