Ive been hunting jack county south west of Bridgeport lake or runaway bay. I haven't seen a lot of rutting activity this year and I was curious has anyone seen it yet. I think it's almost over cuz I shot a big 10 point last week that if he wasn't all broke up would have been 140 to 145 inch deer.

Chris, all I know is that I saw a very nice 10-12 pt. off 114 about 4:45AM a week or so before Thanksgiving right before Lake Bridgeport in Runaway Bay, near the white picket fence property. He was just off the shoulder, possibly trailing a doe. Kind of scared me to be honest how close he was walking to the highway lane. At my place in Murray, a nice 10pt. was seen walking a doe last Sunday..

Thanksgiving weekend was the peak in the northeast part of Jack County I hunt. I got an old 12 pointer (ten with double brows) that weekend. His left G4 was broken too. The does are back together now.

I'm NW of Jacksboro and have pictures of bucks and does together. Scrapes are untended and the rubs are getting weathered so I don't think there is much going on now. Looking for the 2d rut to kick off soon.
