just starting to get into duck hunting. was wanting to get a semi loader for it and was looking at the mossberg 935 and the stoeger model 2000. also the weatherby sa-08. was wondering of those 3 which would be your choice. cant drop the money for a benelli. looking for the most dependable of those three. thanks.

if you are using it for duck and goose hunting only, you cant beat the Mossberg 935.

I have a stoeger that is beat to death but its still going strong. Great gun for the price.
Berretta 3901 is my pick for best bang for buck.

definitely cheap. actually a Baikal O/U was my first firearm purchase. i thought it was a great gun but i did not put too many miles on it. traded it in to get my son a Beretta 390.

I've heard decent things about the 3500, but the stoeger 2000 has an iffy past. Get a good one, and you're set. Get a chitty one, and you'll have light primer strikes and issues picking up a new shell.

Stay away from the 935. Stoeger is pretty slick nowadays. Tristar too.

The bitterness of the poorly functioning inexpensive shotgun lasts long after the exultation of the good deal has faded.
Browning, beretta, binelli, franchi and winchester for the sure bet.
Thought for the day: Ducks were almost hunted to extinction long before camo was invented.

Academy used to have at least a Berretta 390 that was black with kind of a humpbacked receiver that is a great gun.

Earlier this year me and a buddy of mine were in the same boat as you. My dove gun is a Ruger Red Label O/U, but I was wanting something with less recoil for 3" - 3 1/2" loads for duck/goose hunting. (Guess I'm just too old to beat my shoulder to hell over a hunt.) When I was researching shotguns for light recoil, reliability and reasonable cost I kept seeing the Winchester SX3 again and again. My buddy had a strict budget and settled for the Mossburg 935. I ponied up a little more and ordered the SX3. Needless to say, after shooting them both, he's saving up to buy an SX3 for next season.
So far I've had zero issues and I've shot everything from light 2 3/4" target loads to 3 1/2" magnums. My buddy's 935 is picky.
Two different people have shot my SX3 with 2 3/4" dove loads and said it has the recoil of a bb gun. For me, that was important.
If you absolutely have to pick one of the three you mentioned, go somewhere you can shoulder them all and see which one points better for you.
Good luck!

My duck gun was a Stoeger 2000. I saved up and found a killer deal on a Benelli M2...I have no problem shooting the Stoeger instead. I recently shipped my Benelli up to Maine because we will be huntin here this week. So I've ha no choice but to use my Stoeger here. Still love it.

I'd go with a a Baikal as well if I did not have the money to buy a Benelli, Browning, or Beretta. The stoeger M 2000 has a very very high lemon rate. Most of the people I know that have bought them have either had to have work done on them right away or were able to return them. There are some posted above that it's worked fine for. Personally I would not want to gamble.
What I would do is buy a used gun and then start saving for the B gun of your choice.
Dear Lord please bullwhip me for saying this but I agree, Marcstar is in the lead. Please nobody use this as a quote!!!
