18 below zero a little south of Chama, New Mexico bow hunting in a foot and a half of snow. What a joke. We gave up quickly and just drove around and saw some really nice mule deer, but what are the chances you could have put on enough clothes to stay warm and still been able to pull back a bow?

Harrison Co. Sabine River off Hwy. 43. 1998 or 1999 I believe. Don't remember if my pops & I saw anything or not. Just remember the 20 min ride on the back of the 4-wheeler. Brrrrr......

This morning!!! Clay Co, 14 degrees, light snow on the ground. Thankfully there wasn't any wind or it would have been almost unbearable.

This year I did an all day sit with TnT by Durango forecast was 12 degrees in Durango, not sure what it was on mountain. Winds varied from 10-35 mph when the snow squalls would hit. I was on end of point in face of wind, I would have to get on other side for the 15-20 minutes as the snow squalls blew through. I was well prepared and managed, I went back to camp and everyone thought I was crazy. I just couldn't miss anything as it was the best hunting weather we had all week. saw my best mule deer of the week too, just not quite a shooter. when your eyeballs hurt...

1980's, Worked for Data Point and the manager of the Lubbock office invited us "City Boys" up to pheasant hunt right before Christmas outside of Tulia. 15 degrees and blowing snow, My clothes froze to my thermals, killed a boat load of birds though. Most of the hunters didn't even want their birds, so I had pheasant all year.

I think it was '08 and it was 16 degrees out and I met an outfitter on here in Evant for a doe hunt . I really felt bad about getting him out there . We hunted in a 20' tower stand on a hill side with no heater and a 40 mph wind . I got 2 does but we didnt take long doing it .

Hunted a few times the last couple of years after Christmas up in Baylor county. It was mid to high teens and I was in a pop up blind.

Just about every rickety old West Texas blind I've ever been in; somewhere around daybreak.

It was about 15 below with 25 mph winds. I was in a climber and was very chilled to say the least. On top of all of this, I was bowhunting and the only thing I saw on that day was a coyote, oh yeah he didn't get away either!!

Duck Hunting in 6 degrees a few years back on the Trinity River bottom. Standing in waist deep water at that. Everything was froze up except the hole we were on. Had a four man limit in about 15 minutes with most of them being green wing teel. Took Molly about 20 more minutes to fetch them all. As Molly was fetching and we were pulling dekes, the mallards came by the hundreds. Sat watching in amazement wishing we had waited on the big ducks. As if that wasnt fun enough, we came back to the truck and switched out duck gear for rifles and commenced to a hog massacre. Rode the river bottom and killed 20+ hogs. I guess with the cold they were moving like crazy. Picked up a few along the way left the rest to the yotes and buzzards. We kept a few eaters and one big boar a guy wanted a skull mount on.

Haven't a clue at what it would be like to hunt from a heated box stand. With that said, if I ever get on another deer lease, I will find out.
And believe me, I've had homemade lean stands with platforms big enough to box in and put a roof on. And each year I kept saying I was going to do it, just never got around to it.
With that said, I can only say the worst was a hunt that I had the silks, poly-propalene, polar fleece pants and Top, and cover alls. It was cold.
