Hey chital every animal posses unquie characteristics. For example gemsbok vitals are not where whitetail vitals are. So your poll isn't very accurate bud. Plus you have to account for angles, distance, caliber, wind, lots of variables. You should ALWAYS take the most ethical shot 100% of the time. So sometimes it's a neck, behind shoulder, high shoulder, etc. just my advice take it for what it's worth.
If you wanna see a pro lookup Mr. Rann on YouTube he shoots elephants in the head. But there is 2 documented kills on elephants with a 22 rim fire. But don't try it.

Texas heart shot! Seen videos and the PH tells them if you have to put a round in their hip!
Brayden (Lazy L's Southern Comfort) you will be missed! You were more than a pet you were my reason to rise and return for many days! You were my rock! 12/26/03-10/25/13

What caliber, for 375 you would take a heart shot. Elephants have the highest blood pressure of any animal and a heart shot is the most fatal.
If they are facing you and if you have a 458 or 470 or 500 then you shoot below the eye and above the trunk.
Never take a side brain shot, all the PHs I know would not allow such a shot as it is marginal at best. A side heart shot is the largest target and would result in a very quick departure for the elephant...

Or go big and a 950 JDJ for the win!!!! In a 110 lb (50 kg) rifle, this will develop well over 200 ft·lbf (270 J) of free recoil energy if an efficient muzzle brake is not used

I'd shoot with a camera. Personally, I don't want to kill an elephant.

But I'm with not shooting an elephant I saw Babar 1 to many times lol

Karamojo Bell killed about 800 elephants with a 7x57 Mauser and a bunch more with a .303 British. I know he killed well over 1000 elephants total. You kill that many of anything, your gonna get good at it. He almost always did brain shots.

Has anyone seen the video of Mike Pell (maybe Fell..idk) take down that charging bull? Its in a "most dangerous hunts" video with Jim Shockey...takes a headshot and freaking drops that thing. It was the only shot he had though

The best way to stop a charging bull is to take away his credit card.
