I will be in the freer area this coming weekend. Does it look like late pre-rut to early rut in 6 days?
Would really like to have some successful rattling, but would much rather just have a bruiser stroll through in to pursuit...

thatd be sweet. Taking my gf hunting for her first time late this upcoming week in Freer. Where do yall hunt down there? Leases or private ranch?

thatd be sweet. Taking my gf hunting for her first time late this upcoming week in Freer. Where do yall hunt down there? Leases or private ranch? A private 90 acre place. The guy I hunt with has out out a new blind in a place where we have seen lots of deer sign the previous years, and that is where I will be hunting some, so I am hoping to see some action. The place is off a caliche road in between freer and San Diego.

nothing out west I have only seen does so far all buck are comming in at night

We,re halfway between Encinal and Freer. Got a few bucks chaseing does. I would say within the next 5 days with this cold spell rut will be in full swing.

according to my hunters and outfitters in Webb and McMullen County they are still in bachelor groups.
