My employee bought a CVA Hawkens 1:48 twist(used) no paper work.....I have a T/C Hawkens; can he use the same load I use..... 90gr.FFG & 240 gr. HP/XTP or what is recomended??? need a couple of for sure answers... Thanks

Here's the manual for his rifle if you'd like to print it for him; http://www.cva.com/pdf/Side.pdfIt says 50 gr FFG minimum, 100 gr FFG max using a sabot, doesn't list projectile weight. I'd say start at 60 and work up in 5 gr increments to see what it likes the best. Anything to give you an excuse to make smoke, right?

Muzzleloaders arent quite like bullets, you dont have to be so picky with loads.
I shoot an Invest arms hawken replica very similar to what yor shooting. I have shot everythign from 40 to almost 200 grains of pyrodex through it. 95 grains is a good stout and pretty acurate hunting load for me. Mine is a 54 cal and I shoot 315 grain bufaloe ballets.
