I bought a beretta 3901 a couple months ago and love it. been knocking them dead better this year. cost me $800 after tax. lots of people will probably say Benelli. my friends dad has a SBE II and its awesome to shoot, never hunted w it. not paying $1,500 bc Ill do that when I'm 30.

Lets cut to the chase. Browning, beretta, benelli, cant go wrong.
Other makes and brands will all have an asterisk. As in, "okay for the price", or avoid at all costs. Just gets a little messy.
Try some different guns, see how they fit, and go from there.

If duck hunt is your thing the spurge on the gun you really want. I've seen people play the game time and time again where they get the cheap alternative and then two years later they buy the gun they really wanted. All those B guns will last a lifetime. I'd rather buy one gun and be happy.
Dear Lord please bullwhip me for saying this but I agree, Marcstar is in the lead. Please nobody use this as a quote!!!

I have had a Win SX3 for about a month now. No complaints other than a short stock, which I don't really notice. Now if I would just stop having the urge to pump it on the first group of birds....

I'll put a $500 Beretta 390/3901 up against any of them. LOP adjustable, shims and spacers for cast and drop, easily tunable gas system, gas system proven over decades and plenty of them out there.

I bought the new Franchi Affinity a couple of weeks ago. It is made by Benelli (as stamped on the receiver). It is exactly the same as the Benelli M2 except that the recoil spring is in the forend instead of the stock. MSRP is $849 but I bought it for $699. I had a hard time finding it. Finally found one at Independence Firearms just outside of Brenham. It is worth a look.

Usually don't buy guns at bass pro, but looked around a bit, and everybody has then for the exact same $699. So I went bps with the rewards card.

Go find you an old A5 Magnum and you can put have the barrel choked with your choice of 3 tubes for less than you can buy any other new gun of the same quality. The gun will outlast you!

Im wanting to buy my first semi-auto shotgun that I can take duck hunting, any suggestions? First suggestion is to browse through the forums as this has been asked quite a few times before in the past and there are many pages of info to keep you busy. Second suggestion is to give a price range.
I'll take a Black Female every time.

Yeah I live in CenTX and the guys at Cabelas laughed at me when I asked if they had them. They said that if they get lucky and get a few in they are gone in a day or two. Im going to test it in some 25 degree weather next week and see how she runs!

for what it's worth.
I've had SBE, a Xtrema 2 & 391. They're great guns but you still find problems with them, if you pay $1500+ for a gun it better shoot what ever you feed it but that's not so in many cases... Now,,, I just LOVE my Baikal MP-153 so much that I just bought another one. It shoots any brand and load shell you feed it and 3.5" shells for when I'm goose hunting, requires little cleaning, it shoulders great, has little recoil and you can get one for a little over $400.00 band new.
