What is the best way to get woodies to decoy. Mojos don't seem to work and jerk lines aren't too good either. I didn't learn anything from duck dynasty as well.

the only time wood ducks decoy is when you just happen to put your decoys where they were planning to go anyway.

Hunt the roost at the end of the season (or earlier if you're just that mad at them)

Find exactly where they want to be and then pass shoot them as they blow past you.

Right place right time in flooded timber and creeks that's why many hunters jump shoot woodies

Yes.

If, and I mean if, we ever get a good toad floater that makes the river or creeks rise above the banks. The woodies will concentrate around the mouth and continue to fly much later trying to find a safe place to land.

My son and I shot these after a heavy unexpected rainfall two years ago. Two limits of woodies in ten minutes and we passed on shots all morning long.

Walking a creek and jumping woodies is a ton of fun too.

<LIKE this.>
BTW, never buy a dozen Woodie deeks, Throw in a pair from a Woddie set into some Gadwall deeks and seal the tape down firmly before you hit the register. A pair is all you will EVER need.
I've come across several "Woodie holes" over the yrs. Shooting them comes very early or very late. Hence, the roost post.

Wood ducks rest/loaf just like any other duck. Find you a roost and hunt it until atleast noon. Got a roost on the Neches and we burn from 8:00 till noon coming back in to rest.

That is true, never seen them "work", they fly strait in to the decoys, or strait over.
