What is your #1 species to hunt?
For it'd have to be axis deer, upland bird, or waterfowl. Can't make up my mind!

Probably elk in the rut when the bulls are screaming and responding to the calls.
A close second would be sheep hunting in the high country of Alaska, Canada, or the Rocky Mnts.
Hunting the big bears would be Number One except for the hours and hours of boring glassing over many days to find a worthy trophy. But the sheer pucker-exhilaration of the final stalk should not be missed. Bear hunting is sorta like piloting a military airplane: hours of boredom followed by seconds of brutal panic.

I like watching the big mule deer glide over the sage brush. It makes you forget about white tails.

Axis. Love big buck whitetail hunting but the inconsistency of free range Axis deer makes them more fun to hunt

I would say Black Bear has been my favorite. Calling them in as they come in thinking you are dinner has always been a rush.

Whitetail and hogs. May wind up being Antelope if I ever get the opportunity to try it.
All ready

Waterfowl to me! Been hunting them since I was 6 and havent stopped. I just got into calling and I love to see them respond to the calls. I know my job has been done when I hear the thud of a duck on the water.

Spring turkey and duck tie with coyote calling second.
Basically any hunting with a call is my favorite.

Surprising answers considering the WT being the most popular and sought after species on this continent. For me it is definately WT with bird hunting (being anything legal with wings) second and predators third. Hunted Mule deer without success but did love it and Elk being still a dream hunt. Never been.

Right now, Moles. I hate the little suckers and they tear up my yard. I guess that's more killin' than huntin' though. Not the real spirit of the question so basically, what ever is in season and near by. May be cliche' but just getting out is cathartic.

Spring Turkey tops the list, Spring is a great time to be in the woods add in getting toms to respond vocally to the calls while coming in and it is a blast. Also a great interactive hunt for introducing hunters to the sport.
Elk would be a close second, and probably first if money were not object.

White tails bore me I think cause so many people just obsess over horns and age and score its just a beating to hear the arguments and read all the threads about is this deer big enough to mount or old enough to shoot. Give me hogs all day everyday. They taste better anyway.

Well I'd say oryx at my wife's ranch it's topography is very similar to the African savannah as you can get here in Texas and after running multiple hunts it really became a challenge doing a true ruck and hunt from camp. It was fun and very challenging.
Owning a pair of hunting labs and finally having my 9mo old retrieving pretty good This year I'm hooked on wing shooting. Its really cool watch a lab retrieve or a Gsp zig zag through a field and stop on a dime. After a while and enough trigger time everything with 4 legs is probably dead with the right rifle in my hands hunting over a feeder. With dove, no matter how much you practice it's still a challenge for me. I look at dove hunting like golf the frustration and failure and challenge are what make it fun. This year has been my best shot to dove ratio it was 3:1 on avg. besides its like shooting sporting clays with a tasty reward at the end!
