Hog panel and tposts. Bigger the better. Round one using 8-9 panels.

I'm weird, I use 12 panels making a 48x48 foot square. The observations I have had anything on the outside will follow one side and trail off at the corner. The round pens I have they will follow the contour around and around the pen. When I say "they" I mean cows and hogs. My thought behind it is I want the unwanted animals away from the pen as quick as possible. Going on 4 years now and I have not had a cow or a pig one in my feeder pen. The square does not seem to effect the deer movement in or out one way or the other compared to a circle.

Cattle panels work good in *most* cases - see pic below. I knew cows were in my pens but couldn't figure out how until I got this pic one day.

A bullet. .22 would be the cheapest.
That's an F1 cow. That's the problem. I've seen one of those clear a 6' fence flat footed.

Yeah but that bullet would not be looked on favorably by the land owner. Cost you the lease and $$

heh, yeah, the landowner would have big issues with that! I did end up putting two strands of barbed wire to stop that nonsense. A bullet. .22 would be the cheapest.

My land owner will not allow us to put barb wire on our pens.....even though its on all of the fences. I still can't figure that one out.

They're probably attracted to the corn but theres not a big enough pile for them to really eat from.

He has given many other suggestions.

Just to clarify, I was joking about the bullet.
Its usually pretty hard to break a cow of anything once they figure things out. She'll keep jumping until she thinks its too high.
If they aren't eating much and you have your feeder anchored well, why not remove the pen? Its pretty hard for cows to eat straight corn, their not designed too well for that. But if you have goats or sheep that won't work.

Target, the rancher probably is afraid his cows will still jump into the pen and cut their teats or udder on the barb wire

I saw those razor strips you can put on the feeder legs, anyone have any luck with those? We have a cow problem, too.
Wishing I was fishing...

high feeders. The cows on our lease can easily move beneath both feeders in this picture.
