Anyone seeing any birds on Ray Roberts? I'm looking at going this weekend. I've been once and was skunked. Hoping to have more luck. Message me if your going and willing to give up any pointers/spots/or even better allow me to tag along. This is my first Duck Season in the DFW area. I know everyone hunts lake X but any help is appreciated..

Around here nobody mentions a lake or spot by name, that said everybody in the Metromess knows about Ray Bob.... More ducks are shot there than any other place in Texas according to TPW.

I have not seen anything there, but it is a big place. Get out and scout it.

As a RayBob regular I can say that it sucks. We normally don't have to travel to kill birds but this year it has sucked. If you can find some private water tanks you will kil birds!!

It is so easy to scout ducks right now! There is no one blasting at them to move them. If you find them there tomorrow morning, they will be there opening day morning.

Sorry to put it so bluntly, but if you don't scout, I don't feel sorry for you when you get skunked.

Very well played gentlemen! up I was fully expecting to read replies belittling the OP for naming a location but was happily surprised to read positive advise to the OP. Good luck and be safe in the second half!

I scouted the first time to no avail. I thought only the name of the lake was vague enough. Obviously not, But thank you for the heads up

It is in spite of what some of the self appointed spokespersons tell you

I am going Sunday morning if you want to go. Do you have a kayak or canoe? We can walk a mile if you don't have a boat.

We started going to another lake this year after we noticed ten trucks at every access point, now at other lake we are the only ones there woot woot!!!!!

The lack of rain has really pushed the tank hunters on to the resevoirs this year like nobodies bussiness...

there is more water this year than last. Last year with water levels lower, I had more ducks.

The 1 time I went there were other hunters around but no one parked at the same spot. I plan on trying Saturday morning and depending on my success I may or may not go back Sunday. I don't have a canoe or kayak unfortunately
