Louisiana Duck-hunting juvenile shot in head A 15-year-old boy was shot in the head in a duck-hunting accident in Livonia. LIVONIA, La. (AP) — Pointe Coupee Parish sheriff's deputies say a 15-year-old boy was shot in the head in a duck-hunting accident in Livonia. Capt. Steve Juge tells The Advocate the boy, whose name was not released, suffered a serious head injury Saturday after he was shot with a 12-gauge shotgun. Juge said the teen was one of three boys in a boat in Grosse Tete Bayou. He say one of the other hunters, also 15, swung to shoot at a duck but shot the victim instead. The wounded boy is being treated at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge. ___ Information from: The Advocate, http://theadvocate.com

Scary....I hope he pulls through this.

Kind of a snap back to reality on how hunting is not only a fun enjoyable past time but also extremly dangerous and requires a lot of attention and disipline. Hope he turns out alright. Prayers for not only him but his buddy. I can't imagine how bad I would feel if I was the one that pulled that trigger.
We interrupt this marriage for hunting season.

Very sad, make my thankful I made it out of my youth okay with all the things my cousins and I did while hunting. Prayers for all involved.

Sad indeed! Prayers for all involved. I just got back from a large group pheasant hunt and safety was stressed hard!!! NO BIRD is worth shooting a friend, and a limit is not the main goal!!!

Prayers sent.....that is scary. Two years ago @ a local trap and skeet range I was shooting skeet catching the doubles at station 2; I believe, I popped the high bird and switched back to catch the low bird and popped it right over a man's head. He had walked out in the shooting path of the skeet range I was on picking up hulls from the range next to us. I didn't even see him until it was over and saw the pieces of clay raining down on him. I lost a lot of sleep over that and I couldn't even begin to imagine what it would have been like if I would have shot him in the head. Generally if I miss that shot I will shoot under it and he was very lucky I was on my game that day........

Prayers for the boys involved in this sad story. Many fond memories of this area 40 years ago.
