Well I can tell you this, the service will be subpar at most restaurants as nobody can hire decent help right now. I grew up in Odessa and visit my favorite places anytime I go home and the food is still good, just the service sucks.

La Bodega in Odessa on 7th street, good mexican food.

Fajitas & More on 8th street, get an asado burrito and a desebrada burrito.

Jumburrito, stew meat burrito with avocado

Taco Villa, you will either love it or hate it, I love it, combo burrito with green sauce.

Rosa's is also pretty good.

Are you seeing the trend?

For food other than Mexican food.

Hamburger Company on Grant in Odessa

Texas Burger

Keiths Hamburger Station, get the steakfingers

Wall Street Bar and Grill in Midland has pretty good food for a sit down place.

Zucci's in Odessa had pretty decent Italian back in the day but I haven't eaten there in 15 yrs.

For 6 years I ate La Bodega every Sunday after church, I wonder if they still have perpermint Ice Cream. I miss that Place was good food back then.

I also miss the church there, still haven't found anohter Baptist church with a bowling Alley in it.

I miss Odessa, altough I haven't been there since 1985.

all in Midland:

The Bar - try the green chili cheeseburger.
Jorge's - killer margaritas
Price's BBQ - ribs
Jumburrito - Stew Meat & cheese was always my favorite
Wall Street - great house salad (dressing)

First Baptist. Went and looked at their website and it isn't mentioned. When I left there in 85 it was in the basement of the Family Life Center. Guess they repurposed it.

Whitehouse Meat Market has good burgers if you want something other than Mex food.

I'll back the chile rellenos 100%, that is what I get almost every time I go there.

There used to be "dive" on 8th street called Taco Casa that was pretty good.
Not sure if Ben's is still around that was good mexican food right there!

Try La Margarita on Grant St hust north of the Interstate and ask for the stacked enchiladas : red, beef with an egg on top.
Sounds weird but trust me it's great!
