Absolutely not.

You can lay down in a field and buzzards will circle you in 20 minutes if there are enough of them around. Used to do it during cross country practice in high school all the time.

Cool, I wasn't sure. I have left deer guts/fox and coyote carcasses numerous times out in the cold and they have sat there for a few days so I guess it just depends.

I shot a yote a few weeks ago at 20 yards. I walked up to it, took a few pics and walked away. Got about 200 yrds away and 4 buzzards were already circling with 2 eating on him.... CRAZY... As for what happened to the deer.... Someone shot him... Unless theres marks around head / neck he didnt get killed by an animal. Could have broke his neck in a fight or something, but more than likely got shot.

Just to set the record straight... I've known my friend who knows this guy for 30+ years, and he's known him for many years as well. There is no way that anyone on his ranch would of shot at this deer and not tracked him all night and into the morning. not even a possibility. He may have been wounded on a neighboring property, who knows. But i can tell you with certainty, it was not these guys.

Those claw marks on the rib cage look awfully cat like. I'm sure yotes were involved but my money is on the cat found a easy meal, and the yotes got there second.

Yes very interesting. been my experience yotes wouldn't have left a thing but hair and antlers.

what about getting gored by another buck?? Noone has mentioned that yet? Are you seeing rut activity in that area? Could have easily received a fatal wound from a fight during the night, coyotes were in the area and found him pretty quick. Ive had cows die and coyotes eat em up like that over night

I think its funny the first conclusion drawn is that the guy made a bad shot and didn't have the balls to own it. For a buck like that I wouldn't care where I shot it as long as it was headed to the taxidermist.

I know everyone but me has seen 5 mt lions and 2 of those were black. Of all my driving, calling, and hunting I have never seen one. However, a good friend of mine had a ranch between Iredale and Meridian, this is the only place I ever saw a real life mt lion track. Big round pads and no claw marks. I know there is at least one in those hills south of Meridian.

im going with it was a little past shooting light that night the guy got a rush at what hes was threw his gun up and took a hurried shot and gut shot him but figured he totally missed. i hate to say it but i dont care how long you've known someone it doesnt mean you know them.
