I haven't been in awhile, but I enjoy going and would like to see more discussion on bowfishing here on the forum. Anyone bowfish around the lake Palestine or other east Texas areas?

headed out tomorrow night. cant wait!!! was gona offer the op a trip but thats a bit of a drive. i am going to be on a local river that is almost dried up. cant get my bow fishing boat in the water at all. this is going to be interesting. 2 guys, a canoe, a 900 watt genny and 3 halo lights. wish i could take my big boat but the river is shallow and full of logs but has some large deep holes. they are just hard to get to. unless you have a pimped out canoe!

Do y'all just shoot them in holes coming up to the surface at night or do y'all run the banks?

both. shoot big gar in big water, most every thing else is taken along the bank or in the shallows.

well i spent some money tonight. shot a 5' gar in shallow water. went for a boat ride. big fish went through a log jam and tried to take me with it. boat hit the logs and stopped moveing. i ran out of line and had to bear hug my bow and lean back as far as i could. line snapped and it was all over. lost my arrow and all my string.

Bet that was a heck of a ride froghunter. Years ago in florida my nephew shot a ray that pulled all his line faster than I could keep up with the boat. It broke my nephews line too, but only after it pulled him and his bow off the front of the boat.

I'm located in Granbury,Tx. My buddy owns www.Garquest.com and is a full time Bowfishing guide. We shoot tourneys and have a ball. We shoot at times 200-300 fish a night. It's a fun time for sure
