Our bear hunts are conducted in southwestern Manitoba near a national park, an area that is well known amongst serious black bear hunters for producing big bears and Boone and Crockett heads come from our area every year. This is also a good area for colored bears and about 40% of the bears taken every year are color phase. The biggest bruin off of our baits for the 2012 season was 560 pounds and had a 21 ¾ inch skull. Smallest bear of the season was 310 pounds.
Our 5 day 2x1 hunts include a very experienced guide, nice accommodations, meals, all transportation during your hunt, field care and skinning of your trophy bear. Fishing is also available in several lakes in the vicinity for walleye, northern pike, rainbow and brown trout. We offer both spring and fall hunts during May and September.
The hunts are $3,500 per person, including taxes and your bear license. It is a small family run operation and my wife and I do all of the guiding. Combined, we have 55 years of guiding/outfitting experience.
We are currently booking for 2013 and 2014. We only have 3 fall hunts available for 2013 and openings for both spring and fall in 2014, although approximately half of our 2014 hunts are already booked. For more information please PM or contact us at skyline@inethome.ca

Thanks Lazyman. I don't have a lot of experience with marketing on the internet and really don't expect much, but it is snowing and blowing out so thought I would give it a whirl and see if it is worth bothering with again. We only have a couple of spots left for 2013 anyways so it isn't really a concern whether this bears fruit or not. Mostly I come on here to keep an eye on Texas hunt info. Have to get back there one of these days for free range nilgai.

Pictures as requested. Just a few, I have many more. Could not figure out how to actually have them show in the post. Not much of a geek I'm afraid. Here you go... Nice looking bears! Wish I had the money to book one of these. Maybe in about 18 years when all my boys are out of the house lol. Good luck with the sale!
That's why they call it hunting and not killing son!

Can these be done spot and stalk or is it mainly over bait?

It's mainly over bait because the bush is very dense. When we have to follow up wounded bears you can rarely see more than a few yards. Forests are mostly poplar with dense understory of dwarf birch, hazelnut, chokecherry and hawthorne.
Occasionally we may see a bear on the edge of a field and be able to stalk it but it is rare. Baiting is the only way you can see enough bears to be selective and target big boars.

Only a couple of openings remaining for 2013 and 5 openings for 2014. Please remember our hunts are about taking big bears............ not just a bear.

We are offering a new package as a result of a number of hunter enquiries over the last year. There seems to be some who would like to come on our bear hunts but prefer to drive up in their motorhome or drag their big travel trailers along. They could then park on our farm and plug in and do their own thing for accommodations and some of their meals.
As a result of this we are now offering this alternative package for our bear hunts that is identical to our all inclusive package above, minus accommodations during your hunt, for $2,500 US per person. If you are interested in this type of an arrangement feel free to contact us for further information.
Cheers!
