Well, it depends on what they are carrying around in their pouch! Now, if it is a poacher that you are concerned about, I would call the game warden and other law enforcement officials of the county in which you are hunting, explaining the situation, and let them handle it. They will and they will be far more effective than you and they will keep your tail out of jail!

REPORT TO SHERIFF DEPT. AND LEAVE PERSON A NOTE THAT IT IS AN ACTIVE STAND AND TO STAY OUT.

Get any and all info on the poacher you can find. Look for his vehicle and get the license plate number. While you're doing this call the TPW and get them on their way also.

There's too much visiting and lurking going on in this site as it is in any public forum, so I can't tell you what I'd personally do...

I think the morning or the evening i find him in there im going to lock his ass in there till the Gw gets there and then take his gun and tell him he took my stand so it is a even trade. Either that or knock the damn stand over which wont be pretty cuase it is 12 foot in the air that might just hurt a little.

I hate to say this, but both of those ideas will get you landed in jail. Sad but true. Let the law take care of it. Times are not like they used to be.
Locking him in might sound innocent and it could be a good way to keep him put until the authorities get there - but if he swears that he had a stroke or some other condition - you could be sued.
Toppling the stand could kill him...

Let his sorry arse sit in jail while you hunt. Might be that the judge will take away his hunting license, too.

Shoot first and then ask questions if he can answer. jk....

Lock him in the gate? Sounds like a good idea to me. Just don't let him see you. Where does he park?

Can you put a lock on your stand so he can't get in or is it open?

Not me, Take about a 100' or 200' cable, tie it to the base of your stand. Go out about 2:00 am and hook your truck up to the cable. Camo the cable accordingly, and sit back and have some fun. When said trespasser, get's to your stand, give him a ride he will never forget. Works for ground or elevated stands.

Reply to the Sheriff, must have been a gust front that came through, gosh can't imagine how it blew down just one stand.

CAUTION: That's what SPANKY would do, not recommended for anyone else.

I like the idea that was in another post. Where I would take my backhoe and dig a 3'x6'x6' hole next to the stand and put a note on the door stating that if you catch him on your place again the hole won't be empty.

If i were you i would get ahold of the local SO and the GW. The SO will more then likely do some extra patrols in the area and at the minimum should be able to find his truck. and the GW will probabaly set up on the prop the nite before and wait. You might even consider setting up a game camera if you know how and were this person is getting on the property. JMHO

Trip wire 5' in front of blind door and multiple leg traps buried in between the wire and door.
