I have several older classics I would love to take to the field again and this ammo seems to be the top choice. Since regular steel is out of the question, does any one have any comments about this ammunition or any others that may be available? Can hardly wait to bring out the classics again, just want to keep them as they are for as long as I can. Thanks!

I bought two cases. It is Weak. I switched to Kent matrix and am much happier. I still have about 7 boxes of the classic double I would make a deal on. ![](http://i1296.photobucket.com/albums/ag8/Pintailman/Sneakboat%20Years/IMG_0405_zps749861cb.jpg)

How is the Kent on your barrels? I might take you up on the Hevishot. I am newly researching this and the more information the better. Thanks.

Kent IMPACT Tungsten Matrix continues to be the only true alternative to lead. Tungsten Matrix is a patented blend of pure tungsten powder in a polymer matrix specifically developed to match the physical and ballistic properties of premium quality lead shots. Kent IMPACT Tungsten Matrix waterfowl pellets are uniform in size, have consistent density and superior muzzle velocities to deliver maximum energy to the target.
Other tungsten products are restricted to the limitations of steel. These limitations are not found in Kent Tungsten Matrix products because of Kent’s unique lead-like characteristics. That also means Kent IMPACT Tungsten Matrix waterfowl loads are safe for use in older nitro-proofed or high-grade fixed choke barrels. If you have never pulled the trigger on Kent’s Tungsten Matrix you are in for a very pleasant surprise. Unmatched performance must be seen for it to be truly appreciated. Just pull the trigger.

I use Hevi-Shot Classic Doubles out of my old 16ga guns, and have been happy with knock down power. I will also tell you I only use my 16ga guns on farm tank decoying birds in very close quarters. I have used Hevi-Shot(standard) in my modern 12ga. gun on geese with them falling stone dead from the sky. I have not used the Kent product yet as I have not located a local retailer.
