Screwed up and popped a youngster. Haven't seen sqaut since bow season so I was getting frustrated. Saw this guy out the back door eating breakfast after I hunted yesterday around 9:30. Couldn't get him to pose for me and he started heading out of the lane. He wasn't a day over 3 1/2. Oh well, meat should be tasty!

I know the feeling...I shot a Young 13pt with a lot of junk last weekend after everybody else had been killing nice bucks...I just couldn't stop counting the points and pulled the trigger. I am happy with it but if I would have waited one more weekend, I could have shot the guy I was after. Instead...my buddy did. but from the looks of that Rack...I would say you did the right thing.

I'm very proud, flipped him at 125 yds. It was a clean heart stopper. I'm just hard on myself because I over analyze everything and managing my little piece with HF on two sides is my favorite r&r. All year long I run cams, plant, and feed and I try to manage what I can and then I get a hard on and pull an amatuer move. Add this to my missed 9 pt back in Oct and I feel like I'm headed in the wrong direction. Hey, at least I'm not the jerk that tried to drop off four does at the processor with only two tags! That really pissed me off.

Nice buck, the only thing I'd be worrying about right now is the fact that you're going to bleach the heck out of those bases. Next one you do, wrap the bases real tight in Saran Wrap with a couple of layers of foil over it and they'll come out looking great. It's hard to pass on the good ones no matter the age. When i was a kid, we didn't even see 100" deer, heck any 8 pt. was a trophy. Coming from that, it's hard to pass up a 130" buck in hopes you might get one bigger, even if you know he's out there. Get that bad boy mounted, enjoy him, and start working on the does.

First one I've done, more propane than I thought. I don't have bleach in their, just soapy water but I guess it will still lighten it.
