Number of mallards you have shot in one spot in a season?

I've made 5 hunts at one of my spots and we have shot 36 so far hopefully the second parts will give us more mallards

In Colorado we pretty much only had Mallards, we would shoot 6 a day on irrigation canal back when it was about points...

I think that one year around 1982 we shot 150-200 Mallards Drakes off of one canal between two guys...

Wish my grandma was here to chicken fry the ducks for us...

85 Mallards in the same hole 1985-86 just me. I have taken 13 banded mallards within the same square mile but over 33 seasons.

This is an apples and oranges comparison but several years ago 7 guys hunted the same field in Canada for 5 days in a row and shot limits each time. So that's 280 ducks in 5 days. Probably 250 were mallards. It was a swathed barley field that had gotten was too damp to combine. The farmer was extremely pleased with our efforts. The field was huge, probably a couple sections, with a resting pond in the middle. They flew up the hill in groups of 15-20 every minute of two. I was there on days 1 and 2 then it was time to drive back home. Another couple guys joined in the fun after we left.

In 1992 me and my dad shot 602 greenheads and 120 hens on the border between belgium and holland. Season opened late august till dec 31 st. There was -and still is- no limits on mallards, and we used 3 live decoys on 3 different ponds. We hunted saturday only. And lead was legal, so we used fiochi nr 5 in 2 and 3/4. Those were the days. I still have his logbook, he shot over 75000 animals between 1948 and 2003. He died april 12, 2003. He still hunted that last season after his chemo sessions. He was very well known in the belgian and holland community and was nominated many times as being the cleanest and best birdhunter belgium and holland has ever known. I still have his 2 very well detailed logbooks as well as my granfather 3 logbooks with over 90000 animals shot. I am trying to follow their legacy

We didn't keep detailed records, (really wish we did now). But we had some timber holes back in Arkansas that were all but guaranteed Mallard limits if there was water, and you had the time to get back there. One year we (4-5 guys) killed around 500 out of one hole, two bands. Never going to forget that place.

Data below reflects '04 through '11 totals in TX hunting our 7-1/2 acre wetlands project only. However, the "Avg" in the far right hand column is based upon totals from '05 through '11 divided by those seven seasons. Last season's total was just over 50 ducks higher than the average and was almost entirely due to a large increase in Gadwall totals.

Not enough to brag about that's for sure.

One of these days, I'll be putting the smack on them greenheads, and I want no help from no one, it is a mountain I want to climb on my own. Public mountain that is, private mountain don’t count. But that's just what makes me tick.

I respect your public effort, but the ducks dont know if its private or public, i mean, its not like we feedin them wonderbread. I hunt public myself as well, but only 1-2 days a year when i can during the week.

You reckon they headed to that smaller tank to the west of that one?

This was public, Veterans' Day. Front the day before.

Hunted several holes from Texoma to Bonham to Cooper to Clarksville to Hugo, OK and piled up some Greenheads.

Something about them birds droppin' down through the trees that makes all your troubles go away!

Actually they circled 4 times and came right back in wen i left. I just shot 2 videos from the car and left very quickly
