Well, would be tough choice.
Those that say they only would shoot a mature buck would shoot the Missouri Monarch, since the 3.5 year old Hanson Buck needs more time to grow.

Those that say they only would shoot a mature buck would shoot the Missouri Monarch, since the 3.5 year old Hanson Buck needs more time to grow. With all the debates on this forum...that is where the HF/LF debate should end. HF places could let it walk, 99.9% of the LF places would blast that deer

Typical.
They grow deer like the Missouri deer every year in pens and on HF ranches. Big typicals are more rare.

I'd shoot the Hanson buck and hopefully better than he did. If I remember right he shot that thing in the antler once and another time or two somewhere. Ill have to look it up but heard him tell the story.

i like the typical frame better. But i know if they stepped out at the same time, i would take the nontypical - just too much horn to stare at and ignore.

I remember the back page on one of the hunting rags asking which would you shoot if 3 bucks came out, The Jordan buck, the Hanson buck and the Hole in Horn buck all walked out at the same time anf began posturing like going to fight. As they do this an un-named buck stepped out and all 3 turned tail and ran from a very large 6pt buck that would make min B&C score. Which would you shoot?

How many big bucks get shot in the antlers every year because that is where the hunter was looking instead of making a good shot? More than would be admitted to I bet.
